Deyang, located in the hinterland of Chengdu Plain and 47km from Chengdu, Capital of Sichuan Province, is an important part of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. Set up as a prefecture-level city in 1983, Deyang administers 6 counties (county-level cities and districts), including Jingyang District, Guanghan City, Shifang City, Mianzhu City, Zhongjiang County and Luojiang County, as well as a national economic development zone and a national high-tech zone, covering an area of nearly 6,000km2 and possessing a population of 4,000,000. Superior location and complete infrastructure. As the nearest prefecture-level city to Chengdu and residing on the crossing and overlapping point of Silk Road Economic Belt and Yangtze River Economic Belt, Deyang is benefited from the advanced traffic that it is only 50km from Shuangliu International Airport and 24km from Qingbaijiang Station, the largest railway container station in Asia. The location would become more superior along with the completion of Chengdu-Deyang-Mianyang-Leshan Inter-city Train and the Second Ring Expressway of Chengdu, and the accelerated construction of North Extension Line of Tianfu Avenue and Ring Expressway of Chengdu Economic Zone. Solidindustrial foundation and prosperous development.Deyang is a pilot area of the comprehensive innovation reform of China, the manufacturing base of heavy equipment of China, one of the first batch of model bases of new-type industrialization of China and an important industrial city of Sichuan Province. Possessing many first-class heavy equipment enterprises, including China National Erzhong Group, Dongfang Electric Machinery, Dongfang Turbine and Honghua Petroleum Equipment, Deyang is very influential in the heavy equipment manufacturing industry of China and even the world. More than 60% of nuclear power products, 40% of hydraulic power generator units, 30% of thermal power generator units and turbines, 50% of large-scale steel rolling equipment and large-scale cast and forged pieces for power plant and 20% of large-scale cast and forged pieces for ship are manufactured in Deyang, whose output of power generator equipment has been ranking the first in the world and the output of oil drilling rigs has been ranking the first in China for many years. With Jiannanchun, a famous wine in China, Great Wall cigar, Ice Age mineral water and the largest cigar production base in Asia, Deyang is well known in both China and abroad for its food industry. With respect to the chemical industry, Deyang, an important phosphorus chemical industry base and chemical fertilizer production base in China, focuses on phosphorus chemical industry, chlor alkali chemical industry, titanium chemical industry and natural gas chemical industry. Deyang also cultivates the strategic emerging industry to develop the new energy equipment focusing on nuclear power, wind power, solar power, tidal power, bioenergy and fuel cell, and has been listed by the UN as an international model of clean energy technology and new energy equipment manufacturing industry. A batch of emerging industries, such as new material and pharmaceutical industry, also develop fast in Deyang, making it a national base of new material industrialization and modernized production of traditional Chinese medicine. Favorable agricultural conditions and developed county economy.Deyang, residing in Chengdu Plain with advantageous natural conditions, is one of the origins of rural reform of China. In the initial period of Reform and Opening, Xiangyang Town of Guanghan City removes the signboard of “People’s Commune” for the first time in China to lead the rural reform, so it is called “The First Town of Chinese Rural Reform”. Possesses a batch of agricultural giants, such as Yihai, and having established nine excellent subsidiary agricultural product production bases covering vegetable, pig, tobacco, poultry, edible fungus and medicine, Deyang is a national supply base of livestock and poultry, a provincial thin pig export base and a provincial grain and oil production base. The grain output of Deyang has been increasing for 12 years in succession and both the occupancy and output of grain per capita rank the first in Sichuan Province. Distinctcultural characteristics and unique natural landscapes. With a long history and distinct culture, Deyang has won titles like National Garden City, National Forest City, National Health City and National Excellent Tourism City. Sanxingdui Ruins of ancient Shu which has been “sleeping for thousands of years but surprising the whole world once awaken” is honored as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the 20th century and an outstanding representative of ancient Chinese culture in the upper and middle reaches of Yangtze River. Many national treasures from Sanxingdui, such as bronze standing person, bronze mask, bronze sacred tree, gold rod and top-quality jade, are unprecedentedly discovered. The ecological reformation project of Jinghu Lake has also won the “Award of Living Environment Model of China”.
