“Don't say it's late in the evening before the sun reaches the mulberry elm, and the life of the elderly is as wonderful as the color of a sunset.” In tune with the upcoming Double Ninth Festival in 2020, the theme activity of Deyang's First Nursing Culture Week titled "The Filial Piety in the City of Deyang with Virtue and Goodness is universally accepted in the World", sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Municipal CPC Committee, the Civil Affairs Bureau and Deyang Daily, organized by the Municipal University for the Aged and Deyang Jiuding Media, will be officially opened on October 23.

    The 5-day event is around the Double Ninth Festival in 2020. Senior citizens in the city can enjoy a unique and meaningful festival by participating in the event, watching programs, listening to lectures, watching movies for leisure, and visiting exhibitions to improve their literacy.

    From October 23 to 25, several high-quality art shows will be staged at the Bell and Drum Tower Square. The positive and optimistic spirits of the senior citizens will be showed in colorful performances such as singing and dancing, painting and calligraphy, Tai Chi and musical instruments. Meanwhile, all kinds of nursing foods, daily necessities and nursing services suitable for the elderly will be showed and recommended at the site, which will facilitate them to understand relevant products and service information. Excellent movies will be available free of charge for entertainment. On 26th and 27th, three lectures with distinctive characteristics of the times and great popular values will be held in sequence in the municipal cultural centers and other places, and experts from finance, nutrition and other related fields will be present to answer questions from the elderly. The whole activity is based on the concept of cultural support for the elderly, and fully meets the needs of the elderly for seeking knowledge, health, happiness, friendship and worthiness, which will help them achieve the goal of "providing with a sense of security, reliability, happiness and relief".
