Members of the Celebrated Journalists Seminar for French-Speaking African Countries Visit Deyang

On August 27th, over 30 members of the Celebrated Journalists Seminar 2019 for French-speaking African countries came to Sichuan for a week-long study and exchange. They arrived in Guanghan, Deyang on the afternoon of August 31.

When visiting the Sanxingdui Museum, the members learned the origin of the Yangtze River culture in China through a tour guide’s explanation. “I am an African journalist. It is an honor for me to be invited to visit the Sanxingdui Museum. First of all, I feel that the development here is very rapid, such as tourism. Secondly, the museum displays the civilization of thousands of years ago, which reawakens the Chinese people’s memories of the history and makes the Chinese more cohesive.” Joseph Francis Vabtukanabio, a member of the seminar, chief of the Information Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Congo (Brazzaville), said that the civilizations of Africa also have a long history, but they lack an inter-connectivity that they deserve, so they hope that they can reawaken the cohesiveness and collective memory of African people through their culture and tourism after learning China’s successful experience,.

As part of the 2019 foreign aid and training program of China International Development Cooperation Agency, this seminar, guided by the State Council Information Office and hosted by CIPG Training Center, will further promote the exchanges and cooperation between China and Africa in the field of journalism.
