The application for the “CCPIT Deyang Warning Station for Economic and Trade Friction”, submitted by Deyang Municipal Trade Promotion Association last year, has been approved by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). This Station is to make our city’s response to such friction more proactive and effective, and help foreign trade enterprises to enhance their early warning and prevention capabilities to deal with the friction better.
In recent years, facing the complicated and severe foreign trade situation, Deyang has followed the general principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, and sincerely implemented and formulated supportive policies to promote the development of export-oriented economy. In 2018, a total of 1,240 foreign trade enterprise were registered in our city, realizing an import and export volume of RMB 12.679 billion, an increase of 21.9% over the same period of last year and 13.7% higher than that in the goal set by the province, ranking the 4th in the whole province. 1,581 certificates of origin for export goods were issued in the year, ranking 2nd in the province; Deyang has obtained the authority for issuing the preferential certificate of origin of China-South Korea, China-Australia and Asia-Pacific Region, which can benefit more than 100 foreign trade enterprises. There are altogether 59 overseas investment companies, the year of 2018 witnessing the adding of 7 projects, in which the total investment is more than USD1 billion and 9 projects each have investment of over USD10 million and 29 countries and regions are involved, including Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Russia, Vietnam, the United States, Canada, Germany and the United Arab Emirates.
The growth of foreign trade enterprises and more exchanges and cooperation with overseas agencies, organizations and enterprises have brought both opportunities and challenges to Deyang’s economic development. In such a complex and volatile international and domestic situation at present, trade frictions and disputes occur frequently and cause harm to the foreign trade enterprise in Deyang. The successful application for the establishment of the trade friction warning station is of great significance in helping foreign trade enterprises reduce international business risks and handling trade and economic friction in a better way. Deyang Municipal Trade Promotion Association will formulate a warning plan for Deyang in accordance with China International Trade Promotion Committee (China International Chamber of Commerce): Interim Measures for the Establishment of Economic and Trade Friction Warning Agency. We will give full play to the role of this warning station, do a good job in the two-way transmission of early warning information, and organize enterprises to participate in the handling of economic and trade friction cases, and the review, publicity and training of WTO trade policies. Therefore, the international market for Deyang foreign trade enterprises will be better protected by continuously improving the friction response mechanism, strengthening their awareness in risk prevention and enhancing their ability to deal with it.
